Another post on my "weird" spiritual life

Hey folks,

Reading in devotions this morning about Abram and God's promise. What I'm seeing (with the help of a Bible study we are attending) is that the main point of Genesis is trust. Abram was to trust. He did. Completely. That's where I'm trying to get to. Most of the time, I can live close to that. But, there's still that niggle in the back of my mind that wants to be in control and therefore not trusting. So, I'm not asking for more trials but I'd sure like to be in that place where I just naturally trust God completely, all the time.  Herein lies the weirdness.  On two sides.  First, I'm wanting to be in control of my whole life but all I can see is the exact moment (now) in relation to the past and with no idea of the outcome of decisions I make except that they are somewhat predictable.  Why wouldn't I trust Someone who stands outside of time who knows the past, present, and the future as though it is all in front of Him?  Second, if you don't believe in God, then why even bother trusting the outcome of X decision to that which doesn't exist?  How weird is that?  Blaming something that doesn't exist for my foolish decisions.  Not to put myself in Abram's same level, I do believe and trust God.  Weird, but it makes more sense to believe in God's existence than to refuse to see His handiwork both in my life and in the world around me.
