I took a call from one of my dear friends yesterday, one of our adjuncts at the seminary where I work. She will call from time to time with some rather funny story of a student's escapades. This one, I believe, illustrates perfectly the mental status of some of our students. Plenty of intelligence; very little common sense.
We are in the seventh week of a thirteen week semester. So, over half way done. A student calls the prof all shook up because he couldn't find the article that was needed for the collaborative report due real soon. The conversation went something like this:
Student: "Hey Prof, I can't find the article that we have to write about on this next assignment."
Prof: "Uh,
Student: "What!? You mean we have textbooks for this course???"
Prof: "Yes. I suggest you go back and read the syllabus."
Student: "I guess I better do that so I can get my textbooks in time."
Gotta say, people are just plain funny and ... yep, weird!!! :-)
