Myrna's Mom

Here's what we know so far. She blacked out, fell, broke her nose and her eye socket. Apparently she had a seizure. The neurologist said that she has two lesions on her brain and one on her breast. They don't know the prognosis yet. Hopefully we'll know something soon. She is lucid and wanting to go home but the doctor won't let her until he is certain she won't have another seizure. There is a good chance she has cancer and that it has metastasized from her breast to her brain. They performed the biopsy yesterday and will run the tests on Monday with the results coming to us either Monday or Tuesday. We'll know more soon, we hope. We're now in NY and will be for a little while longer. I will keep this updated as we learn more. Yes, this is a change from what this site was for but it at least gets the information out. Again, thank you for your prayers and please keep praying.

The Messianic President?

Watching the news the other day, I was a little taken back by a liberal reporter using this term, the "messianic president". Whether you voted for him or not, you have to admit he commands a presence. HOWEVER, look at these pictures and tell me what you see.
See? Look at the crowds that came out to see him. Look at the lady in the bottom right hand corner of the small group picture. I would have expected this to be a response to Christ Himself coming back to earth. See the almost worship exuding from her eyes? A very dear man recently said, "No president is as bad as you think they are nor are they as good as you think they are." Folks, there has only been one Messiah, Jesus Christ. There is no other. He is the only one who could walk on water, calm storms, raise the dead, heal the sick, restore health, etc. Barack Obama will not do any of the above. He is just a politician. An experienced one at that. He will make mistakes. Again, whether you voted for him or not, you should pray that he succeeds. Because, if he succeeds, we all succeed. To want him to fail is just weird. To claim him to be a messiah is weird. To look at him, to throng to him, to create this image of him is just plain weird. Weird, weird, weird! May God save our souls!

Bless you!

Sitting in church yesterday, I heard someone sneeze several rows in front of me. This occurred during the middle of the preaching service. Now, I'm used to "amen's" and "yes" and different affirmatives directed at the minister, but rarely heard anything directed toward a fellow listener. The obligatory "Bless you" was spoken by the guy at the end of my row. See, here's the strange thing - why do we feel it necessary to "bless" someone who sneezes. I once had a fellow tell me on the phone, after I had sneezed, "I refuse to 'bless' you for sneezing. I'll wait until at the end of our conversation." And, he did. Yes, I know the heritage of the "bless you", but, come on, folks, let it go. If a person sneezes they are not really going to lose their souls nor will they take in any evil spirit because they sneezed. If you truly want to bless someone, you don't need to wait until they sneeze. Do it any time. Otherwise, you just confirm my point - that's weird. Well, I guess just blessing people is weird as well. Okay, then, to weirdness - God bless you!

Decorating with a Sharpie?

Hey, you just have to check out this story. In Lexington, KY, a guy decorated his basement with $10 worth of Sharpies. He says that people had no idea how much you could do with so little money. Right - who would want to decorate with a Sharpie. How about a weird Kentuckian. Anyway, here's the link. Enjoy.
