It's been awhile, hasn't it? Sorry about that. I wish I had an excuse. I don't. Well, except for one. Have you ever heard of writer's block? You know, the time when your brain refuses to think about any one thing that allows you to put something down in an intelligible manner. What to write? What can I say? Yes, I said I'd report about the poll I took. I'll do that. I just can't yet. It's not ready. (BTW, the polling site, Survey Monkey, tells me that the response was really exceptional. We had a total of 170 respondents. If this were a scientific study, that would be a fairly significant number. So, thanks for your help with that.)
Let's think about writer's block for a moment. Perhaps you are facing that yourself. We're winding down on the semester; Thanksgiving is upon us with Christmas break breathing down Thanksgiving's neck. Looming larger than life is the end of the semester, with all of the tests and pages of papers to write and perhaps many books to read. Oooof! What to do! How in the world can we survive the crush?
You've heard the old adage, "How do you eat an elephant?" "One bite at a time." Right? So, how do we finish the semester? How do I write this post? How do we survive to the end? Literally, one letter at a time. One letter, coupled with another to form words that form sentences that form paragraphs that form an intelligently written paper/test - that's how. One step at a time. Don't let the mountain of work so overwhelm that you can't do the small things that will help you accomplish the big thing.
Well, look here. Writer's block? Yep. But, by putting the principle described above into practice - lo and behold, presto! Here's the post.
Seriously, folks. Today focus on the small things that will help you accomplish the bigger things that will help you finish the semester well. We are the great cloud of witnesses hoping and praying for your good finish. Keep pressing on. We want and need you to succeed. Our prayers are with you as you continue to press toward the mark God has called you to.
