Vilification!!! Okay, you folks that are excoriating Lebron James - GROW UP!!! Don't you see how fickle you are. Let me be brief.
If the Mavs had lost, you would have said, "What a washed up player Dirk Nowitzki is. He needs to retire. Always a bridesmaid; never a bride." Etc. After 2006, everyone thought he was washed up. In fact, just this morning on SportsCenter, I heard the commentators say how old Dirk is to just now win his first championship. Same with Jason Kidd. I am happy for both of them. They are both good to great players.
If the Heat had won, you all would have been agreeing with Scottie Pippen, saying Lebron is the next incarnation of the true great one, Michael Jordan. I generally ignore the hype, but I gotta say, all this vilifying of Lebron is getting long in the tooth. GET OVER IT!!! Can you tell, I'm getting tired of it? The Heat lost. Yeah? So what? They've only been together one year and in that one year they amassed one of the best NBA records for the year, beat each one of their playoff opponents rather handily, and gave the Mavs all they could handle. Whether they win a championship or not, it is still much too early to tell how good they really are or how good they will be. And, as I heard recently, one championship can be considered a fluke. So, the Mavs have a lot to do in the next couple of years. For now, it's time to move on to the next story, whatever and whoever that may be.
